Delivery Information
1. General
These delivery terms apply to all orders placed with Wide Wings Tiles Ltd, whether in person at our showroom, by telephone, or by email. By placing an order with us you agree to the terms below. These terms do not affect your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
2. Delivery Coverage
We deliver to addresses throughout the United Kingdom. Deliveries to certain remote locations including the Scottish Highlands and Islands, Northern Ireland, Channel Islands, Isle of Man, and other offshore addresses may be subject to surcharges or may not be available. Please contact us before ordering if you are unsure.
3. Delivery Method
The majority of our deliveries are fulfilled by third-party pallet courier services using 18-tonne vehicles equipped with a tail lift. By agreeing to take delivery, you confirm that:
- You are aware that delivery will be made by a large 18-tonne articulated or rigid goods vehicle with tail lift.
- You have confirmed that the delivery address has suitable vehicular access for an 18-tonne vehicle.
- You accept full responsibility for notifying us at the time of order if access is restricted, limited, or requires a smaller vehicle. Failure to do so may result in a failed delivery and re-delivery charges.
- Wide Wings Tiles Ltd shall not be liable for any damage to private roads, driveways, pathways, kerbs, or property caused by delivery vehicles attending your address.
4. Kerbside Delivery — Important
All deliveries are kerbside only. Our drivers and couriers are not obligated or insured to carry goods beyond the kerbside or the back of the delivery vehicle.
Kerbside delivery means the driver will offload goods to the nearest accessible kerbside point at your address using the tail lift. The following conditions apply:
- It is your responsibility to arrange sufficient manpower and/or equipment to move goods from the kerbside into your property. Tiles are heavy — plan accordingly.
- The driver will not enter your property, carry goods up steps or stairs, or position pallets beyond the delivery vehicle’s reach.
- If you request the driver to go beyond kerbside at your own request, Wide Wings Tiles Ltd accepts no liability whatsoever for any resulting damage to property or persons.
5. Someone Must Be Present to Accept Delivery
You or an authorised adult must be present at the delivery address to accept and sign for the goods. If nobody is present, your rights to claim for damages or shortages may be seriously affected.
- If delivery is attempted and no one is present, the carrier may leave the goods at the property at their discretion. Wide Wings Tiles Ltd accepts no liability for any damage, theft, or deterioration of goods left unattended at your instruction or in your absence.
- If delivery cannot be completed due to no one being present, a re-delivery charge will apply. We reserve the right to pass this charge on to you in full.
- Where goods are left on a driveway, pathway, or outside a property in your absence and are subsequently found to be damaged, no claim will be accepted. The driver’s completion record will be treated as conclusive evidence of delivery.
6. Delivery Timescales
Delivery timescales are estimates only and are not guaranteed. We shall not be liable for any direct or consequential loss arising from late delivery, including but not limited to contractor standing time, accommodation costs, or project delays.
Wide Wings Tiles Ltd acts solely as a seller and arranger of delivery. All deliveries are fulfilled by independent third-party hauliers and pallet courier networks over whom we have no direct operational control. We shall not be liable for any delay, failure, loss, or damage caused by a third-party carrier, including but not limited to late delivery, missed delivery slots, vehicle breakdowns, incorrect routing, or courier error. Any claim arising from carrier conduct must be made to us in writing within the timeframes set out in this policy, and we will pursue the matter with the carrier on your behalf where appropriate.
Wide Wings Tiles Ltd shall not be liable for any consequential, indirect, or financial losses arising from delivery delays under any circumstances, including but not limited to: charges for tilers or contractors standing by, cancellation fees for tradespeople, costs of alternative materials, project overrun costs, loss of earnings, or any other knock-on expenses howsoever arising.
Important advice: We strongly recommend that you do not book tilers, builders, or other tradespeople to commence work until you have received your full delivery, inspected all tiles, confirmed there are no shortages or damage, and verified that the correct goods have been delivered. Wide Wings Tiles Ltd accepts no liability whatsoever for tradesperson costs, standing time, or cancellation charges arising from delivery delays, shortages, or damaged goods.

7. Inspection on Delivery — Critical Obligations
Failure to inspect goods on delivery and note any damage on the delivery documentation may result in your claim being rejected. Please read this section carefully.
- You must inspect all boxes and packaging for external damage before the driver departs where at all possible.
- If any damage is visible, you must write “DAMAGED” on the carrier’s delivery note or electronic handheld device before signing. Do not sign as “received in good condition” without checking.
- Do sign the delivery note as “unchecked” if it is not possible to check the goods at the time of delivery.
- All boxes must be opened and tile contents inspected within 48 hours of delivery.
- Any damage, shortage, or discrepancy must be reported to us within 24-48 hours of delivery with clear photographic evidence.
- We cannot accept liability for damage claims reported outside the 24-48 hour window as we are contractually required to notify our carriers and insurers within set timeframes.
8. Risk & Title
Risk in the goods passes to you upon delivery. Legal ownership (title) of the goods remains with Wide Wings Tiles Ltd until full payment has been received and cleared in our bank account. Until title passes, you must store the goods separately, keep them identifiable as our property, and must not sell or dispose of them.
9. Failed & Refused Deliveries
- If a delivery fails due to an inaccurate address provided by you, restricted access not disclosed at the time of ordering, or no person being available to accept delivery, the re-delivery cost will be charged to you.
- If you refuse delivery without lawful reason, the cost of the return delivery and any storage charges incurred by the carrier will be deducted from any refund due to you.
10. Force Majeure
We shall not be liable for any failure or delay in delivery caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to extreme weather, road closures, industrial disputes, carrier failures, pandemic restrictions, or acts of God. We will notify you and fulfil your order as soon as reasonably practicable. For the avoidance of doubt, delays caused by our third-party hauliers and pallet courier networks — including but not limited to vehicle breakdowns, driver shortages, depot congestion, routing errors, or network disruption — are entirely outside our operational control and Wide Wings Tiles Ltd shall bear no liability for any direct, indirect, or consequential losses arising from such delays. In all cases of delivery delay, our liability is limited solely to making reasonable efforts to secure the earliest available alternative delivery date. We shall not be liable for any costs, losses, or damages arising from your reliance on a specific delivery date, including but not limited to tradesperson fees, contractor standing charges, cancellation costs, accommodation, or any other consequential expenses.
